The August 9th presidential election was the hope things would improve with the newly elected president. However, same as the prior elections, this one was also rigged. Yet another stolen choice caused mass protests throughout all classes of Belarusians, and the tech sector was not an exception. The authorities responded to peaceful protests with brutal force, repressions, and police violence.
As a result, many decentralized protest initiatives have emerged throughout the country. Those included Telegram bots as well as specific web and mobile products that helped to continue mobilizing the Belarusian society inside the country and abroad through multiple civil initiatives.
